A Medicare Medical Savings Account Is One Of Your Choices

(from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, http://www.cms.hhs.gov/) "The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will implement a new consumer-directed Medicare Advantage product beginning January 1, 2007, called a Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) plan. This new plan type combines a high deductible health plan with a medical savings account that beneficiaries can use to manage their health care costs."

CMS will offer regular MSA plans and demonstration MSA plans. There are different deductable, coverage and service aspects to the two types of plans, as well as the geographical areas that are allowed to enroll in them.. (For other Medicare topics, see our home page The Medicare Project - home)
