Flyfisher's Guide to Colorado
Flyfisher's Guide to Colorado
by Marty Bartholomew, A. K. Best; 2002; paperback 588pp

reviewed:"Excellent, comprehensive review of Colorado fly fishing    I met Marty at a fishing show in Denver this winter. He was much too modest about this book. I bought it at Pat Dorsey and Joel Hubscher's recommendation - it is first-rate, thanks for the referral."

reviewed:"Complete Colorado    This book "The Fly Fisher's Guide To Colorado", is a book that stands alone in a sea of fly fishing books. A well written book indeed as author Marty Bartholomew, takes you on adventures throughout the state of Colorado. Every detail is in the book as well from hatch charts to hospital locations it is all in here. This is the most complete book I own, period. I feel this is the best choice if you are in the Colorado region, to get all the facts. There are many different versions, about various states, so many others won't miss out on these great books. I as well, met Marty at the Denver expo, a true class act! "

reviewed:"Great book (recomendation from a local),    This book is a phenomenal find. I live just 25 miles south of Rocky Mountain National Park. Each year, for the past three years, I sit down with my fishing buddies, we open up Fly Fishing Rocky Mountain National Park: An Angler's Guidebook, and plan approximately eight trips to the "park" using this book as our guide. So far the trips have been fantastic. Every year the question is raised "How can we go to another spot when the last trip was so great?" The guidebooks advice never fails us, have faith, read the book and GO! I have caught Colorado River cut throat, green back cut throat, rainbow, brown trout and brookies. The book is well written and will serve as a guide for anglers wanting easy, moderate and difficult hikes. A must buy for someone who doesn't know the area."

Fly Fishing Southern Colorado
Fly Fishing Southern Colorado: An Angler's Guide
by Craig Martin, Tom Knopick, John Flick; 1996; paperback; 184pp
reviewed:"Great detail for trip planning    This is a book to use in planning a trip to an unknown area. I've flyfished warm water for years but I know little of trout fishing and nothing of doing so in Colorado. This book provides the detail to make decisions on which drainages and particular streams to fish. It clearly points out what is public and private water, what fish are there and provides some information on rod weights and lengths (though I would like to see a bit more of this) and good information on flies and lures to use.

reviewed:"Very good and detailed book about fishing Southern Colorado    This was the first book I ever purchased off Amazon and I really enjoyed reading Mr. Martin's work. He does a very good job of telling you what to use and where to go in southern Colorado. I plan to take it with me this summer along with my 3wt and use it when i am on the water."

Flyfishing Southwestern Colorado
Flyfishing Southwestern Colorado
by Mark D.Recreation Williams; 1997; paperback; 135pp

For flyfishers living or visiting the southwestern colorado area, this book is absolutely essential. The amount of research that went into this book must have taken years, and there's nothing else out there with this information. It's honest, and gives me a heads up on the weaker creeks I don't need to waste my time with, and offers great advice on the water I definitely need to fish. I never leave home without it, and use it in conjuction with my DeLorme topo maps to plan all of my S.W.CO. trips. It doesn't have maps like other guide books have, but it references the necessary DeLorme quadrants you'll need. Anyone who uses these maps regulary knows that it would have been superfluous to include maps.
